 After
redesigning an existing deck and reorganizing a
patio and play space in this Wallingford back yard,
the result was a unified space that flows from
indoors to outdoors. The new, enlarged deck is
adjacent to the kitchen and offers ample room for
barbecuing. Details on the deck posts and
rails reflect architectural details from the
interior of the craftsman house. The bluestone
patio at the bottom of the deck steps is spacious
enough for an outdoor table and chairs, and gives
the homeowners room to entertain or just watch their
children climb on the new play structure.
