The
H House is a custom house designed and built by
Modus V Studio
Architects. Studio 342
consulted on the site design and green technology
strategies for landscape. Using the LEED for Homes and Built Green rating systems as
performance benchmarks, the landscape design will minimize energy and water usage while
integrating the modern architecture with the
site. Simple yet bold drought tolerant plant masses accentuate the
contemporary lines of the house and extend them into
the site. Ecologically friendly lawn, pervious
paving, and rainwater recycling are also
incorporated in the design.
The H House will
be seeking two prestigious certifications upon
completion. By seeking the LEED Platinum rating (the
highest possible), the H House is the first single
family residence registered for LEED certification
in the city of Bellevue. Additionally, this project
will be registered with Built Green. A 4 or 5 star
(out of 5 stars) will be sought from this highly
regarded program. Both LEED for Homes and Built
Green certifications verify that this home and site
were designed and built using the very best
strategies to improve energy savings, water
efficiency, reduce CO2 emissions and improve
environmental quality.
